Introduction
It was around 1993 when I first sat down and started putting my “ROCK” stories down on paper. ROCK has been through many changes since then and had many titles including “A Mental Life”, which was the close 2nd choice to “Rock.” These tales have been sitting on one hard drive or another for years but I wasn’t sure what to do with them. The only people that will really appreciate these stories are the Fans ... the fans of who? Well!

They were brothers; it was Andros Georgiou and Georgios Kyriakos Panayiotou from the beginning. They were inseparable in their lives both personally and professionally. Together they travelled the world, mingled with the stars and experienced a life few would ever know.

Rock will make you laugh, cry and learn more about the true George Michael that very few people have ever seen. This is the story of two men who started out together in life and then entered the music business. While one went on to become a superstar, the other became his true friend and confidant. It’s an amazing journey into the world of music, showbiz, of living life to the fullest and untimely loss.

Being part of a large extended Cypriot family, Andros and George grew up together in North London. From the very beginning, Andros stood next to George’s mum & dad at George’s christening, held at the same Greek Orthodox Church where both their parents had married, their children had been christened, and where George would one day christen two of Andros’ sons.

From the very first WHAM! program and their first tour that kicked off in Aberdeen, Scotland in 1982, the credits read, “Andros Georgiou - Our Man Inside The Music Industry”. This was the first of many credits that George Michael would give Andros over the next 20 years, during George’s meteoric rise as one of the biggest and most successful singer/songwriters of the century.

Andros was there to witness the high and low points of Michael’s career, from the days of WHAM!, to the court case with Sony, to his international stardom selling millions of records, as well as his arrest for lewd conduct in Los Angeles. Andros shared many private moments with George and was noted as the man who became his rock. Andros was his closest friend, adviser, and confidant while a string of managers, lawyers, and advisers would come and go. Andros was the only man George could turn to at all hours as he battled with fame, success, fortune, sexuality, and the deaths of the two most important people in his life - his mother Lesley and his lover Anselmo Fellepa.

The first story reveals some of the most memorable moments in Andros’ and George’s lives ... from the punch up between Richard Gere and Sylvester Stallone at Elton John’s house while Princess Diana looked on ... to running up a $10,000 dollar phone bill on David Geffen’s private jet.

Rock takes you on a roller coaster ride of hilarious moments, heartache, and emotions. Learn more about this brotherhood, this friendship, and the inside-world of the music business – and the toll it took on this partnership.
